In what way does overpopulation affect India in general terms?
Human overpopulation is among the most urgent environmental issues.
- Unemployment: As more and more people are born, less jobs will be available. And as a result of this, unemployment is one of the problems India is facing because of overpopulation.
- Undeveloped infrastructure: Development of infrastructural facilities is unfortunately not balanced with the growth of population. The result this is a lack of transportation, communication, housing, education, healthcare etc.
- Resource usage: Land areas, water resources, forests are ill-used. There is also scarcity of resources.
- Decreased production and increased costs: Food production and distribution have not been able to keep pace with the increasing population and thus the costs of production have increased. Inflation a major consequence of over population.
- Unequal income distribution: Fancing an increasing population, there is an unequal distribution of income and inequalities within the country.
